Join

If you would like to join St Annes Scout Group all you need to do is contact the Group Scout Leader or leader of the relevant section. The age bandings are; 6-8 years old in beavers, 8-10 1/2 years old in cubs and 10 1/2-14 years old in scouts, though there is some flexibility with these. The district then have explorer and network groups for those wishing to continue in scouting.

We meet each week at St Annes School canteen. Though we do often run activities away from our normal meeting place. Please contact the section leaders for upcoming itineraries. See sections for details of meeting times.

We do not run a waiting list and though there is some leniency on ages between cubs and scouts all cubs must be 8 years old.

All that is required for a new participant is a complete and correct medical form.
Each section can have their own additional requirements which you can discuss with the section leader.
Across all three sections the new starter should first take part and be sure that they want to join. Then they should get the correct uniform (see uniform section). When they have learnt and understood the law and promise they will be invested by the section leader and may then wear the group necker.

Each quarter we ask for £20 to subsidise the running of the scout group. We also ask all members to join us in raising funds to keep the group active. Typically this is only done once a year, though may be done more often.

Subsidies go towards capitation (mempership) equipment, materials, badges, and activities. Additional fund raising may be done to subsidise camps or special events. Camps and other events will be charged for separately.

Please note that scouts are a registered charity and a non-profit organisation
